What is an IP Address?
IP (Internet Protocol) is a unique identifier assigned to each device connected to the internet. It's like your home address on the internet, allowing other computers to find and communicate with yours. There are two main types: IPv4 (format: 192.168.1.1) and IPv6 (longer format with letters and numbers).
What is DNS?
DNS (Domain Name System) works like the internet's 'phone book'. It translates easy-to-remember domain names (like google.com) into numerical IP addresses that computers use to communicate. Without DNS, we would have to memorize IP numbers to access websites.
What is Reverse DNS?
Reverse DNS does the opposite of normal DNS: from an IP address, it discovers the associated domain name. It's mainly used for email server validation, security and network diagnostics, helping to identify the source of connections.
